Venture Capitalist, General Partner (GP)
Acero is a solo GP, early-stage VC in Ent SW, particularly cybersecurity; we make a smaller # of concentrated thematic investments in sectors we know deeply.
We are founding investors & company builders. We thematically find technical founders who've solved a difficult technical problem in our target sectors, and help them launch the company as part of our initial round (typically $4-8M). We’re deeply active & invest in every round. As a result, we: (a) focus on 2-3 companies at a time to ensure their success, and (b) have large ownership stakes, typically remaining the largest shareholder even in companies that raise hundreds of millions of $.
Rami Elkhatib started his career as a software developer, later becoming a VC focused on building companies from the ground up. Rami has made 9 concentrated investments in Ent. SW, 4 of which already have realized outcomes = 4x, 5x, 8.5x & 17x – the latter being a partial exit (via a secondary) that's still growing & forecasted to reach 40-70x. Rami & his team also sponsor an impact program to place people with developmental disabilities (e.g. autism) in high value tech / software jobs.
